The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will terminate their contract with the Rosebud Hospital on March 16th.
It is the latest in a list of issues for the Indian Health Service facility. The hospital closed its emergency room in December due to a lack of staffing and other safety problems.
Senator Mike Rounds says they added more money for IHS to address those problems….

Rounds says he wants to see negotiations between the differing federal agencies….

Rounds says tribal officials are also involved in the discussions…..

The Indian Health Service has chronically underperformed for a number of years.
