State Senator Deb Peters of Hartford became the 45th President of the National Conference of State Legislatures at their annual meeting in Boston.
Peters will head up the group that serves over seventy-three hundred state lawmakers, and twenty thousand legislative staff across the country.

Peters says there are a number of South Dakota legislators active in the national group…..
Peters was elected to the House in 2004, then moved to the state Senate in 2011.
