A poll conducted by Neilson Brothers Polling of Sioux Falls shows republican Mike Rounds with a lead over democrat Rick Weiland in the South Dakota Senate race.
The poll shows Rounds supported by forty three percent of those questioned, with Weiland at thirty percent.
Independent candidate Larry Pressler was supported by fourteen percent, and Gordon Howie is at four percent.

Weiland, a former staffer for Senator Tom Daschle, said he thinks he is in a close race………

Weiland says he knows it will be a difficult race, but he sees an opening……………

Weiland has been campaigning against “big money” and its impacts on the political process since he got into the race. He says there is more evidence of that effect……….

Weiland has now begun his second tour of all of the state’s incorporated cities and towns.
