An investigation committee of the South Dakota Senate voted to admonish two Senators after deciding they were drunk during the final hours of the 2020 legislative session.

Senators Kris Langer of Dell Rapids and Brock Greenfield of Clark both apologized to the committee for their behavior and actions.

Committee member, Senator Craig Kennedy of Yankton says it was a difficult assignment…

Possible penalties discussed by the committee ranged from expulsion to exoneration. Kennedy says normally admonishing is not done publicly….

Kennedy brought a motion to censure the two which was defeated. He then supported the motion to admonish them….

The resolution passed the committee on a nine to zero vote. It now needs to go to the full Senate for consideration.
