In his budget address to the legislature, South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard proposed an increase of state aid to education of under one percent.
Yankton School Superintendent Wayne Kindle says they didn’t expect that…..

The Yankton School District has been working with a structural deficit of about one million dollars. Kindle says a slim increase like that could widen their budget gap….

The Governor said he will talk about the Blue Ribbon Task Force recommendation in his State of the State speech. Kindle says the proposed increase for teacher pay may be included then…..

The legislative session starts January 12th.
