Congress passed, and the President signed new legislation this month that will replace “No Child Left Behind” education rules.
The new “Every Child Succeeds Act” is supposed to let states make more decisions on education and achievement.
Yankton School Superintendent Dr. Wayne Kindle says “No Child Left Behind” imposed new rules on teacher evaluations that they didn’t really need….
Kindle says there will be time to go through the details on the new rules…..
Kindle says he thinks more of those decisions should be at the state and local level….
The new bill does keep annual testing for math and reading achievement.
