South Dakota legislators are down to the last day debating if state employees and teachers get any pay raise next year.
Legislators are close to approving a bill that would give teachers and other public employees a point three tenths of a percent raise.
Dan Swartos, Superintendent at McCook Central in Salem says while they understand the revenue situation, their costs will continue to increase too…..
Swartos says they are more concerned with a change in the formula that was made in the House this week….
Swartos says the formula will be more important to schools in the future than any one year increase….
Today (Friday) is the last day of the main run of the legislative session. Lawmakers will return on March 27th to deal with any last-minute business.
