As schools begin the fall term, most districts have filled their teaching vacancies.
Mark Froke, Superintendent of the Vermillion Public Schools, says special education was a concern……
Froke says they had ten vacancies to fill, plus some new positions….
The legislature raised the state sales tax a half cent this year to fund teacher raises. Froke says they spread that out to all their teachers…..
Froke says the extra money was a big help to their district, which is near state borders with Nebraska and Iowa.
