School districts through out South Dakota are starting to put together their budgets for the next academic year.
That will include a six percent increase in state aid approved by the legislature this year.
Wade Pogany, Executive Director of the Associated School Boards, says they are relieved that made it through the session…

Pogany says each district will have to decide how to allocate their portion of state aid….

Some legislators said the intent was to make sure teachers got a six percent raise. Pogany says each district will have to make that call….

The amount of state aid each school gets is determined by their student enrollment numbers.
