Schools districts across South Dakota are working with new achievement testing, and a different set of results.
The old, “Dakota Step Test,” has been replaced by the “Smarter Balance” testing.
Yankton School Superintendent Dr Wayne Kindle says these results can’t be compared to the scores from the older tests…..

Kindle says they have been working with parents to understand the test results….

Kindle says they don’t have the same detail as they did under “Dakota Step”………….

While the district was rated as “progressing,” over all, there were areas of concern with math and English scores.
