SD Schools Weighing In on ESSA

A new federal education program, the “Every Student Succeeds Act” is being rolled out across the country.
States and local school districts are making comments on the replacement for “No Child Left Behind.”

Yankton School Superintendent Dr Wayne Kindle says they support any program that gives them more choices…..

Kindle says there were rules, and no money under NCLB…..

Kindle says they still depend on federal funding for a number of programs…..

Each state has to report to the US Department of Education on their plans to implement ESSA.
