The Associated School Boards and the School Administrators of South Dakota held their joint summer meeting last week in Sioux Falls.
A year ago at this time, the Blue Ribbon Committee and teacher pay were the hot issues.
Wade Pogany, Executive Director of the school board group, says this year, they are doing follow up…..

The legislature earlier this year passed a half cent sales tax increase to fund higher teacher pay.
Pogany says while the pay increase for teachers is a good move, it will take some time for the effects to be apparent….

Pogany says they also took some time to talk about the new conflict of interest laws……

Pogany says they will work on their legislative agenda this fall.
