Schools across South Dakota are adapting to a new funding formula passed by this year’s legislature.
A half-cent sales tax increase was passed, which will move about sixty five million dollars to local school districts.
District 16 Representative Jim Bolin of Canton says schools in his district should see budget gains…

Bolin says he hasn’t heard any complaints…..

Bolin says the extra tax will help move the state out of last place in teacher pay……
Many districts will implement teacher pay raises of five to fifteen percent for the fall term.
