The cost to produce electricity continues to increase, in part driven by air pollution rules on large coal fired power plants.
Brad Schardin, Manager of Southeastern Electric, based in Marion, says they have seen years of those increasing energy costs….

Schardin says their customers will see a rate hike later this spring…..

Schardin says while their costs continue to rise, so does the demand for electricity…..

Southeastern serves an area from west of Freeman, to areas west and south of Sioux Falls.
