The River Basin Natural Resource District Oversight Advisory Task Force, that was created by the South Dakota legislature, held their first meeting of the summer Monday in Pierre.
The task force discussed the boundaries and maps needed for the new water districts, and the election process for new district members.
Task Force Chair, Kim Vanneman of Ideal, says they want public input on the direction they are setting……

The 2015 legislature passed a bill that changes water management from county lines, to drainage basins.

Vanneman says it will take cooperation at all levels to make the changes……

Vanneman says it is critical that the district maps get done…..

The task force will meet again in August.
