Members of the South Dakota House will take another vote on a bill that would raise the state sales tax a half cent to fund teacher pay raises.
The bill got a majority of votes on Thursday, but fell one vote short of the forty seven needed for a two thirds majority.
Representative Mike Stevens of Yankton says he thinks the votes will be there…..
Stevens says despite what opponents say, there is no extra money available in the budget…..
Stevens, who voted for the tax hike, says it is a tough vote….
The reconsideration vote is scheduled for this afternoon.
