Representative Mathew Wollmann of Madison has decided to resign from his position. Wollmann submitted his letter of resignation from the state legislature Monday morning. Wollmann, who faced a review by a special House committee to determine if he violated House rules by having sexual relationships with interns, said in his letter that his resignation from the state House of Representatives is effective immediately.
He previously said he had consensual relations with interns over the age of 21 in 2015 and 2016.
A special committee was set to hear the case tomorrow afternoon.
