The US Transportation Department will give a little more than six million dollars in Tiger grants to two rail projects in South Dakota.
In a conference call with Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx, Governor Dennis Daugaard says a state railroad will be able to improve its service…………

Daugaard says a ten mile per hour speed limit on its west river track limits the capacity of the rail line……….

Daugaard says the other part of the project will upgrade rail between Huron and Brookings……….

Daugaard says the RCP&E is critical because it is the only rail line that transits the entire state.
