The South Dakota State Railroad Board is waiting for the funding to come together for a rail project in the northeast part of the state.

State Department of Transportation Secretary Joel Jundt updated the board at their meeting Wednesday….

Jundt says the grant would take the place of an earlier proposed loan…

Jundt says they hope to have the financing in place by this summer….

The D.O.T. had originally asked for twelve million dollars, the legislature approved six point two five million dollars.
The rail line runs from Milbank to Sisseton.
