The South Dakota Railroad Board is working with a short line operator to find the money needed to replace a bridge over the Sioux River in southeast South Dakota.
The bridge, used by the D&I railroad is near Elk Point, and is over one hundred years old.
Railroad Board Chairman Todd Yeaton says they made another loan on the project at their meeting this week….
The board previously set up a two and a half million-dollar loan on the project. Yeaton says they are looking for some cost sharing…..
Yeaton says they have used the cost sharing on other rail projects…..
The bridge will cost over four million dollars to replace.
