The South Dakota State Railroad Board is working through the details of agreements to sell two segments of state-owned rail lines. The Sioux Valley Line between Beresford, Canton and Elk Point is being sold to the Dakota and Iowa Railroad, while the MRC line between Mitchell and Presho is being sold to short line operator WATCO.

The D&I line is being sold for ten million dollars, while the MRC price was set at thirteen million dollars.
