An almost thirty-million-dollar investment into a railroad line seems to be paying off.
The South Dakota Railroad Board used a sixteen million dollar federal TIGER grant, along with thirteen million dollars in state and local funding to rebuild the rail line from Mitchell to Chamberlain, and then to Presho.
Rail Board Chairman Todd Yeaton of Kimball says there is increasing traffic coming off that line….

Yeaton says that traffic is the best in the history of that line….

While most the traffic ends at Kennebec, Yeaton says there may be more business out to Presho…..

Yeaton says the rail board is interested in partnering with businesses that want to expand along that line.
