The South Dakota State Rail Board has set conditions on the operator of the MRC line to quickly make repairs and upgrades to that track.
Board Chairman Todd Yeaton of Kimball says they took a look at the line in person……

Yeaton says they set a deadline to make those improvements….

New rail is being laid from Chamberlain west to Kennebec and Yeaton says they don’t want to see that track fall into the same state as the stretch from Mitchell to Chamberlain…..

The Government Operations and Audit Committee of the legislature has also asked Yeaton and other state officials to appear before them to answer questions about the operation of state rail lines.
