Officials with South Dakota Pulse Processors are planning to open their $6.5 million pulse processing plant in November. Pulse Processing CEO Steve Brown says they’ll be processing mostly peas and some lentils at the facility located near Harrold, South Dakota.
He says they hope to have 40,000 tons of processing capacity once they are up and fully operating.
Brown says they’ll process pulse crops for both domestic and export markets. He says most of the pea exports will go to southern U.S. and African customers.
He says they’ll be testing their equipment beginning next month prior to the proposed November opening.
