SD PUC Upholds Hearing Schedule for the Summit Carbon Solutions Pipeline Project

The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission rejected an effort by landowners to halt a hearing for a carbon dioxide pipeline.

Attorney Brian Jorde, an attorney representing the landowners, said Summit Carbon Solutions missed their deadline for notifications of the impending project….

The Commission has scheduled the hearing for the pipeline application for September. State Treasurer Josh Haeder, who is sitting in for Commission Chair Kristie Fiegen, said he can’t support holding up the hearing…..

The Commission voted three to zero to deny the motion to stop the hearing.
The pipeline would transport liquid carbon dioxide from ethanol plants across the region to underground storage in central North Dakota.
