SD PUC Chairman Chris Nelson Running for Re-Election

South Dakota Public Utilities Commission Chairman Chris Nelson is running for re-election this year. He says he enjoys the job…..

Nelson, a republican, was appointed to the commission by Governor Dennis Daugaard in January of 2011. He then was elected in November of 2012 to fill out the final four years of that term. This year, he is running for a full six year term on the commission.

Nelson says they are seeing a lot of rate increase requests from state utilities…..

Nelson says there are a number of reasons for the rate hike proposals….
