The massive tax cut bill passed by Congress late last year was a cash windfall for many companies, including investor owned utilities.
The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission is working to get the details.
Commission Chair, Kristie Fiegen says they approved hiring an expert to help them figure it out…..
Fiegen says there are a number of ways the utilities could apply the tax cuts….
Fiegen says the PUC moved quickly after the tax bill was signed to make sure any savings from the tax cuts went to consumers and not investors…..
Fiegen says it could take a year to figure out how the financial changes will apply.
