The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission and Northwestern Energy reached an agreement on a one-time refund of money the company gained due to the federal tax cuts.

Bird says each electric and gas customer will see a onetime payment in October….
Northwestern has sixty-two thousand electric and forty six thousand gas customers in the state.
Commissioner Gary Hanson says there are two parts to the agreement…
The PUC has been working through similar rebates with the other five investor owned utilities in the state.
