The US Department of Homeland Security notified twenty-one states that hackers targeted their voter registration systems before last year’s election.
Most of the systems were not hacked, and those that were didn’t have any lasting effects.
South Dakota was not one of the states listed by DHS.

Krebs says those ballots are secured and stored for at least a year after each election.
She says there are more double checks between the counties and the state…..
Iowa, Minnesota and North Dakota were among the states on Homeland Security’s list.
