A South Dakota Legislative committee has spent much of their time this summer drawing lines on maps.
The River Basin Natural Resource District Oversight Advisory Task Force met again this week.
The task force is trying to figure out the details in setting up new natural resource districts across the state.
Senator Art Rusch of Vermillion says the basin lines will cross county lines……
Rusch says they also agreed on the number of directors in each of the new districts……
Rusch says they still haven’t reached final agreement on where and when to start a pilot project…..
Rusch says they will meet again next month and in October. He says they will then figure out the mission of all of the new districts. A law passed by the 2015 legislature is responsible for the new natural resource districts.
