South Dakota Lieutenant Governor Matt Michels has announced he will not be a candidate for Governor next year.
Michels says he wants to finish his partnership with Governor Dennis Daugaard……
Michels says he has had a lot of encouragement to run…..
Michels was elected along with Daugaard in 2010, and re-elected in 2014. Michels had previously served in the South Dakota House, including two terms as Speaker.
Michels says he doesn’t anticipate running for office in the future…..
South Dakota Congresswoman Kristi Noem and Attorney General Marty Jackley have already announced their intention to run for Governor next year.
