New federal labor laws will extend overtime rules to more employees.
The rules, set to become effective December first, will let full time, salaried employees earn overtime if they make up to forty-seven thousand, four hundred seventy six dollars a year, more than double the current ceiling.
That will have an impact on government budgets too.
Yankton City Manager Amy Nelson…..

Nelson says they made room in next year’s budget to make the adjustments…..

The rules also affect how comp time is figured.
