SD Legislature’s GOAC Committee “GEARS UP” for Another Contentious Meeting

The Government Operations and Audit Committee of the South Dakota Legislature holds a two day meeting this week on some controversial issues.
The committee will again take up the GEAR UP grant issue, which has so far resulted in charges against three former officials of the Mid Central Educational Cooperative.
GOAC Chair, Senator Deb Peters of Hartford, says they requested the appearance of a number of people possibly connected to the issue…..

Peters says they have to be careful in how they proceed in their investigation…..

Peters says they have already proposed a number of law changes….

GOAC member, Senator Stace Nelson has made many charges, saying state officials are covering up massive corruption in connection with missing GEAR UP dollars.
