A bill that some supporters were calling “constitutional carry” did not survive a veto by Governor Dennis Daugaard.
South Dakota legislators were in Monday for the final day of the 2017 session.

HB1072 would repeal and revise a number of law relating to the concealed carry of handguns.

Sponsor, Representative Lynne Disanto of Rapid City says permits would still be an option for people……

Representative Timothy Johns of Lead says it is not a constitutional issue, and it is a bad bill…..

The veto was upheld on a thirty-six to thirty three vote.
