The South Dakota Farm Bureau is supporting a truth in meat labeling bill that’s been introduced in the State Legislature. Farm Bureau Lobbyist Mike Held says they want to make sure meat is properly labeled and that consumers have the option to choose either meat from animals or lab grown product.
He says they’re encouraging the movement of this measure at the state level because the federal government isn’t moving fast enough in addressing this issue.
Held expects there to be a hearing on the legislation within the next couple of weeks.
