The Executive Board of the South Dakota Legislature will gather next Monday to set up the summer study schedule.
Legislators have submitted ideas to the E-board for topics that committees will look at before the next legislative session.
Senator Billie Sutton of Burke, a member of the Executive Board, says there has been talk about finding more pay for those working with Medicaid patients…..

Sutton says he thinks it would be a good time to take a closer look at the state’s tax structure….

Sutton says he thinks legislators should evaluate the need for a tax on food…..

During the debate on the sales tax increase in the legislature this year, democrats offered a proposal to raise the tax one cent, and take it off food. That attempt failed, with a half-cent sales tax increase passing into law.
