While South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard says he believes a good case can be made for expansion of Medicaid, he may have a hard time convincing many fellow republicans.
Representative Mike Stevens of Yankton says he doesn’t share the Governors view………

Stevens, one of the GOP whips in the House, says the state doesn’t have the money to gamble on the expansion….

Stevens says he hasn’t seen positive results in the states that have expanded their Medicaid programs…..https://soundcloud.com/wnax-radio/mike-stevens-929c-1

The Governor says Medicaid can be expanded to include fifty thousand new recipients, and not cost the state a dime.
He is expected to have an expansion proposal in his budget speech in December.
