SD Legislators Mixed Reaction to Medicaid Expansion Proposal

South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard says he will bring a proposal for Medicaid expansion to the 2017 legislature. That after failing to get enough support for a special session this summer.
There will be mixed reaction from lawmakers.
Senator Arthur Rusch of Vermillion says the plan he has seen makes sense….

Rusch, a republican, says he thinks they can devise some measure of financial security for the state….

Rusch says the expansion could hinge on the cooperation with the Indian Health Service….

The Governor’s plan would add about fifty thousand people to Medicaid coverage.
