South Dakota legislators will sign off today on a budget that spends just over four point five billion dollars, including just under one point six billion dollars in the general fund, and then adjourn the main run of the 2016 session.
Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, a member of the Appropriations Committee, says they wrapped up the final details yesterday afternoon….
The budget process was changed this year to give legislators revenue projections about two weeks earlier in the session.
Hunhoff says that helped them put the budget together….
Hunhoff says there still could be adjustments to the budget, using SB159, the private school scholarship bill as an example…
Legislators will return to Pierre for the last official day of the session on March 29th.
