One of the final agreements for South Dakota legislators in reaching a state budget deal was rules on spending federal dollars.
Senator Jean Hunhoff of Yankton says they put an end date on that spending authority….
Hunhoff, Co-Chair of the Joint Committee on Appropriations, says legislators will monitor how state agencies are handling those hundreds of millions of dollars….
Hunhoff says they have to be cautious in starting new programs with one time money….
The Joint Committee on Appropriations will meet during the interim to hear reports on how those dollars are being spent.
