There are still a number of bills moving through the South Dakota legislature that would replace parts of the repealed IM22 provisions.
That measure, that was approved by voters in November, would have set up an ethics commission, put strict limits on lobbyist contributions to legislators, and imposed public financing of campaigns.

Representative Mike Stevens of Yankton says the bills will not totally replace IM22……….

Stevens, Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, says he expects any bill related to IM22 passed this year, will be modified in the future….

Stevens says laws need to change as conditions change….

Legislators wrap up the main run of the session this Friday.
