SD Legislators Begin Budget Work

South Dakota legislators worked through opening ceremonies and speeches in the first short week of the 2018 session.

Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, a member of the Appropriations Committee, says they heard from all of the agencies in the Capital Building……

Hunhoff says each agency gets time to update the committee on any planned changes…..

Hunhoff says they will split up the Appropriations Committee this year to help speed the budget process along….

Hunhoff says they will hear from the larger agencies, including Social Services, Health, the Regents and Education later this month. Legislators are off today (Monday) and will work four days this week.
