South Dakota legislators will hold a special session starting Monday to decide how to spend millions of dollars in federal CARES Act funding.

Representative Ryan Cwach of Yankton says Governor Kristi Noem wants a quick approval of the spending recommendations..

Cwach says while the federal dollars are being spread around, more needs to go to deal directly with the pandemic..

Cwach says much could change by the time they get back for the regular session in January….

The state got one point two billion dollars from the federal government. Legislators are being asked to approve spending about six hundred million of that.
