SD Legislator Wants to Clarify Constitutional Amendment Ballot Issues

South Dakota legislators are preparing bills and looking at issues ahead of the start of the 2021 session next month.

Representative Caleb Finck of Tripp says he is hearing about the court challenge to the marijuana amendment that was approved by voters last month…

Finck says he would like to see those issues refined before they go on the ballot..

Finck says it would apply to future ballot issues..

The amendment was challenged on several grounds and will be before a judge for initial arguments early next month. The recreational marijuana amendment was to become effective next July first.
