SD Legislative Task Force Still Working with Agland Values

When the South Dakota legislature made major changes to how ag land was valued for property taxes, they also created the Ag Land Assessment Task Force to monitor the recommended changes to the process.

Senator Craig Kennedy of Yankton has been a member of that task force during his time in Pierre. He says they have continued to monitor the ongoing changes in assessments and valuations..

Kennedy says it’s been more of a struggle in areas where croplands and grasslands mix…

Kennedy says they made a change last year that provided more guidelines to county assessors..

Kennedy did not run for reelection this year and will be leaving the legislature at the end of the month.
