Representative Jon Hansen of Dell Rapids is the prime sponsor of a bill that would give vouchers to parents to send their child to a nonpublic school. The amounts would be the same as state aid to public school students.

Mortenson says the question is if the state could afford it…
The bill has been sent to the Education Committee.
