SD Legislative Primaries Decided

A number of legislative primaries were held in the area yesterday.
In the District 16 Senate race, incumbent Senator Jim Bolin of Canton surged late to defeat challenger Nancy Rasmussen of Hurley by a fifty-two to forty eight percent margin.
On the House side, challenger Karla Lems of Canton was the leader with thirty six percent of the vote followed by incumbent Kevin Jensen of Canton with thirty three percent. Representative Richard Vasgaard of Centerville was moved from District 17 and finished third in the two way race.
In the District 19 House race, challengers Jessica Bahmuller of Alexandria and Drew Peterson of Salem finished first and second.
Representative Caleb Finck of Tripp was moved from District 21 and finished third in the five way race.
