SD Legislative Pay Raise Bill Moves to the Senate Floor

A bill that would increase pay for state legislators survived a committee vote and will next be heard on the Senate floor.
The bill (HB1311) would increase pay for legislators to one fifth the median pay in the state, or to about ten thousand dollars. Legislators now receive about six thousand dollars a year.
