The 2017 interim meetings of the South Dakota legislature will begin as soon as lawmakers wrap up the final day of the session on Monday.

One of the first will be the Government Operations and Audit Committee, which will meet on Tuesday.
Vice-Chair, Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, says they will hear several reports on public safety, and drug treatment programs……….

Hunhoff says many of the programs overlap, and that makes them difficult to track…..

Hunhoff says while they are attempting to follow the dollars, other committees are following the progress of the people in the programs….

The committee will also hear reports on admission policies and overtime at the Human Services Center in Yankton and the Developmental Center in Redfield.
