A legislative committee has ended an investigation into the conduct of a representative who resigned after admitting to sexual contact with two interns.
The House Select Committee on Discipline and Expulsion found that sexual contact between a legislator and an intern is a violation of the legislatures rules.
Committee Chairman, Timothy Johns of Lead says legislators have to uphold high standards of conduct……
Johns said the Legislative Research Council attempted to contact interns that may have been involved with Representative Matthew Wollmann.
LRC Director Jason Hancock told the committee they didn’t get much of a response…..
Committee Member, Representative Mike Stevens of Yankton says they did make a ruling on any such contact…..
The interns were over 21, and Wollmann says the contact was consensual.
Wollmann submitted his resignation on Monday.
